Off to Camp

Tomorrow morning, bright and early I head off to camp, Woodleaf, in the mountains in Northern California. I'm only taking 2 girls (cousin Saundra being one of them), but I think it's going to be great. Please keep me in your prayers for health and wisdom. Especially my knee, as it has decided to start giving me problems. Isn't that wonderful. :)Plenty of fun pictures and stories to come.

Road Trip

So, this past weekend I went on a little road trip up north with Brandon (aka the Punk) to visit Joe Lee (friend from Young Life). On our drive up, I saw the coolest license plate that reminded me of my team, GOLD RUSH. It was great:

The trip itself was great. We stayed with my fabulous cousins Annie and Mike in San Jose (love you guys!!!) and then drove into Santa Cruz on Saturday for a fun filled day with Joe. Which means that I got picked on mercilessly by Brandon and Joe. A definite highlight was running into JON AXTELL! He happened to be at the camp where Joe works and so I saw him Saturday morning. SO GREAT seeing him. :)
Also, we saw You, Me and Dupree--funny movie, if you like Owen Wilson, you will like this movie. I was laughing almost the entire time.

P.S. Do you know how much cooler (temperature)it is in Northern California. So not fair! :) It was ridiculously beautiful there.

Riverside

So, I'm officially back in Riverside, CA now. CRAZY times. It's so stinking hot here, but at least the humidity isn't in full effect like all those crazy places in the south. :)
I start work next week with Young Life and I am VERY excited! It's going to be an amazing job, I'm working with awesome people. And I'm living with one of the coolest ladies in the world, Ardie! If you're in the area and you get the chance to meet her, you won't regret it!
Not much else to report. Now that I'm settled, I'm going to try and catch up with all the friends I haven't seen in a VERY LONG TIME. That means YOU! :) Let's hang out, ok? :)

Grace and Peace.

NCCC Graduation

So, although it's a little late in posting, I thought I'd say a few words on Graduation. It was surprisingly enjoyable. No crazy antics, but a couple of enjoyable speeches and of course, the enivitable goodbye's. No fun there. :) I had to include these last pictures from that day: a final Gold Five picture and all of our family and friends taking it. :) Good times.

My Reflection from ESC

At the end of every project, we have to write a reflection about our project. This was mine.

Knee Injury :(

So... while ground guiding on Sunday night, my knee got pinched between the 15 passenger van and a mini van that we were attempting to parallel park in front of in Downtown Charleston. :( To make a long story short... the top picture is the original brace I had on to immobilize my knee and I am now currently on crutches (oh so fashionable for Awards night--the bottom picture with my buddy DJ). Diagnosis: a torn MCL and some damage to my miniscus (however you spell that silly word). Time will tell what is going to be done to me...at the very least Physical Therapy, and a chance of surgery. Way to go out with a bang! :)

ESC staff

some of my favorite staffers... Janelle, Paige and Becca.... Parting is such sweet sorrow. Maybe we'll see one another at camp next year!

Cake Wars '06

A little cake fight after our last Easter Seals Camp Staff Friday Meeting Extravaganza. :) It started out simply enough (bottom picture), but it got a little crazy when Lifegaurd Russell decided to "shampoo" my hair with icing. Gross! :) Good memories though...

Hats for Sale

One of my favorite campers, Miss Brenda. We were having some laughs getting ready for Skit night (during Adults with Developmental Disabilities).
