It's Been Awhile

Let me take a moment and say, gosh... I haven't taken the time to write in awhile. Shame on me.

Moving on.

So-- for those of you who don't know... my parents have sold our house and are moving to the beautiful area known as San Clemente. It's been a little emotional around here, not to mention crazy hectic and out of control. It all happened real quick. The best part is that God was so evident in everything that has happened which gives us all a TON of peace about this move. We won't be officially down there until almost the end of July, so we've got time to move in sections. :) My section will be down there ASAP, if you know what I mean. Hey, I gotta enjoy it while I can before I move across country. (If you didn't know that I'm moving-- call me, we need to catch up!)

As far as books go, in case you've missed my random book insights.... I've read some good ones:
True Believer by Nick Sparks-- his newest. Very very good-- his typical romance with a twist. If you need a good summer easy read, I highly recommend it! :)
Witness for the Prosecution of Scott Peterson by Amber Frey-- I saw her interview on Oprah and I was curious. So I got the book. It was VERY interesting, even knowing the story from her interview, reading the actual transcripts was enlightening. He (SP) is a sick sick sick man.
Jude the Obscure by Thomas Hardy-- another loan from Shannon Charles. If you enjoy British literature and are in the need for it.... I recommend this one. For those of you who don't know, this was Hardy's last novel. He got so much criticism for it, he refused to write another novel. There are some interesting themes and scenes throughout the novel AND some intriguing characters. It's a little lengthy at times, but it's worth the read.
I've read some other books, but nothing fantastic or worth mentioning at this juncture.

I'm currently reading 3 other really great books... so watch out for another update.

LasVegas

So... my parents and I are up in Vegas for the weekend (Dad had a conference... Mom and I tagged along). We have just enjoyed a wonderful meal at the Hard Rock Cafe (yes, I eat there even though they serve Pepsi products). We decide to cross the street and get something to eat for the morning at a Market on the corner across the street from the HRC. As we are walking up to the entrance I notice that there are cockroaches on the sidewalk... Then the doors open and we look inside and there are cockroaches inside. SO GROSS! And then I notice that people are still fully buying stuff and not even caring. So, I say,"Let's go somewhere else." And my lovely father says, "What? Everything is in plastic wrappers."

Luckily my Mom was there and we quickly exited the premises without purchasing everything.

BTW-- if anyone is planning on driving to Vegas anytime soon-- make sure you pack a neck brace. The 15 in California is HORRIBLE!

Though I walk through the valley of death...

A sick man turned to his doctor, as he was preparing to leave the examination room and said, "Doctor, I am afraid to die. Tell me what lies on the other side."
Very quietly, the doctor said, "I don't know."
"You don't know? You, a Christian man, do not know what is on the other side?"
The doctor was holding the handle of the door; on the other side came a sound of scratching and whining, and as he opened the door, a dog sprang into the room and leaped on him with an eager show of gladness. Turning to the patient, the doctor said, "Did you notice my dog? He's never been in this room before. He didn't know what was inside. He knew nothing except that his master was here, and when the door opened, he sprang in without fear. I know little of what is on the other side of death, but I do know one thing... I know my Master is there and that is enough."
May today there be peace within you.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
